Biofine Finings (1/2 Oz)

Kerry Biofine is a clarifying agent that's a powdered, purified collagen (isinglass), that is isolated from the swim bladders of tropical fish. At the beer pH, it has a positive charge that reacts with your negatively charged yeast cells and suspended solids, creating flocculation, thus accelerating the sedimentation process. Binds with the yeast and other colloidal materials so it can be removed easily with the sediment. Highly effective in clarifying your beer quickly and easily, and improves head retention in some beers.

Recommended Usage: For a 5 gallon batch - 0.025 oz of biofine powder with 5 oz of very cold water (<40°F ideally) Stir continuously for 30 minutes and refrigerate for 2-4 hours, then stir for an additional 15 minutes. Ensure the solutions doesn't rise above 60 °F, or the collagen will denature. Using a blender can reduce the necessary mixing down to just a 15 minute process. Use 1.9-4.5 oz of the solution to dose your beer.
